Blazing Star-Eureka Lodge is
the product of a 2005 merger between Blazing Star Lodge
and Eureka Lodge. The following is a brief history of
our original charters. |

The Charter for BLAZING STAR LODGE was granted at a
Special Communication of the Grand Lodge held in Portsmouth on February
13, 1799. The Lodge has continued to meet without interruption and is
the third oldest Lodge from the statndpoint of continuous meeting. One
Senior Warden served as Grand Master - Joshua Darlin (180-1822). Six
of its Masters have served as Grand Master. John Harris (1817-1819).
Horace Chase (1851-1852). John Webster (1883-1884). Charles Wiggin (1911-1912)
Walter E. Dunlap (1953-1954) Herbertr E Kimball (1965-1966)

The Dispensation of EUREKA LODGE was granted July 17, 1860. The Charter
was granted once a provision in the proposed By-laws which permitted
visiting Brethren to hold office was stricken out. The Lodge was constituted
and consecrated on July 12, 1861. One Master has served as Grand Master.
